Job Description
Work with operator & EPC Site Management and SHE to implement project / site SHE programs, including incident prevention activities (e.g. walkthroughs and leading indicators)
Advise Site Management Team (operator, EPC & subcontractors) of operator, EPC and local SHE requirements, regulations, expectations and best practices
Coach / advise EPC and subcontractors to establish, communicate, and implement SHE expectations and initiatives, monitor execution with EPC's SHE policy, management system, procedures & rules, and monitor conformance with Coordination Procedure & Project / Site SHE & Execution plans, Implement improvements where appropriate
Ensure development, implementation and monitoring of adequate control processes.
Facilitate regular SHE inspections, assessments, and audits at the various Sub-project sites in accordance with established operator SHE Programs or as requested by project management
Communicate and coordinate guidelines for operator SHE awareness, recognition, and incentive programs
Provide assistance and participate in risk assessments per the Sub-project's SHE program
Organize & participate in RCA incident investigation and follow-up, including potential severity assessment, review of notifications/reports, corrective actions, and sharing SHES lessons learned
Facilitate/encourage heightened SHE awareness and behavior throughout the Sub-project
Promote SHE awareness and safe performance among project team members
Identify and work to eliminate hazards and unsafe acts; Work with operator, EPC & subcontractor management towards achieving an injury-free work place
Keep site management apprised of significant SHE issues and plans/progress towards resolving issues and eliminating hazards
Communicate SHE initiatives, achievements, experiences, and issues from other sites/projects with site team members and EPC / Subcontractor SHE and Management
Monitor work processes to ensure compliance with the construction site work planning/coordination program and system/area responsibilities
Provide SHE induction briefing to new team members and visitors
Skills and Experience
Flexible with work schedule as it may rotate between day and night shifts
Extensive experience as an SHES Advisor
Good knowledge of Construction SHE standards, codes and practices
Practical SHES judgment
Ability / desire to develop successful working relationships in an integrated, multi-culture project team
Ability to work with Microsoft Outlook and Office
College level education or equivalent (preferred)
Prefer previous operator project experience, specifically with greenfield / grassroots project
Preference for Spanish speaking candidate
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
